Exploring animal life on a hydrothermal vent

By Beth Askham

In the summer of 2019, researchers from the Museum travelled to Iceland to study a hydrothermal vent.

They found an array of animals living on the vent that might help us understand how life has adapted to these unique heated, chemical-rich, underwater places.

As well as intriguing vent animals, the team got to see humpback whales breaching in the bay.
