Planetary Gong Bath
Enter Hintze Hall and experience an out-of-this-world sound journey beneath Hope, our majestic blue whale.
We’re bringing you a gong bath that’s out of this world.
This immersive gongs session draws on the Music of the Spheres – a concept inspired by the ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras’ vision of planetary frequencies. It regards the proportions of the movements of celestial bodies – including the Sun, the Moon and the planets – as a form of music.
Listen as sound artist Simone Salvatici and his talented gong ensemble create a rich, textured soundscape that resonates with celestial vibrations. Using planetary gongs as well as synthesisers and drones, they’ll blend ancient and contemporary sounds into a timeless exploration of primordial tones.
As the vibrations of the gongs fill the hall and transform the space into a meditative environment, take time to connect with the universe. As you become immersed in an atmosphere of creation, movement and stillness, reflect on the wonder of existence.
