Home educators are welcome to visit us to bring learning to life. We offer a range of opportunities to enrich your learning adventures.

  • Come along to one of our dedicated Home Education Days.

Home Education Days

We run Home Education Days to give you the opportunity to curate an itinerary of workshops, shows and talks, to futher support your children in education.

Home Education Day: Biodiversity - 22 July

Join us for our Home Education Day on Tuesday 22 July to discover some of the wonders of the natural world and explore the biodiversity of our planet.

Aimed at young learners aged 5–13, this day gives home educators the opportunity to curate an itinerary of activities, run exclusively for home educated children.

Coming for a self-led visit?

Book your free general admission tickets to ensure that you get guaranteed access and the ability to skip the queues when you visit. We also have free gallery learning resources that you can download to bring our galleries to life.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer workshop or shows that are advertised for schools to home educator groups, due to limits in our staffing capacity.

However, in our commitment to home eductors, we have increased the frequency of our Home Education Days to three times a year to ensure we are reach as many home educated children as possible.

Key information for your visit

  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult. This includes all Home Education Day activities.
  • Please see our access page for more information on how we can support your visit. Please be aware the Museum can be very busy year-round.
  • We recommend our Five quiet spaces and galleries in the Museum - a free paper copy can be found at information desks.

Home Education Days

  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult on all Home Education Day activities.
  • Only children who have booked in advance onto Home Education Day activities will be able to attend.
  • We can only permit one adult per child and we are not able to accommodate siblings in activity spaces due to space limitations.
  • For Home Education Days tickets, contact the Bookings Team by phoning 020 7942 5555. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9.00 – 17.00.
  • Tickets are released two months before the date of the event.
  • We will need to collect your contact details at the point of booking. All your information will be treated confidentially.

Group tickets cost £4 per student. Accompanying teachers and adults go in for free.
