We welcome home educators to visit us at the Museum and offer a range of opportunities to enhance your learning experience.

  • Join us for one of our Home Education Days.
  • Explore our galleries on your own self-led visit.
  • Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for our temporary exhibitions at a discounted learning rate for Mondays - Fridays during school term time.

Home Education Day

Our Home Education Days give home educators the opportunity to curate an itinerary of workshops, shows and talks, run exclusively for home educated children.

Coming for a self-led visit?

Please book your free general admission tickets. You can download our gallery learning resources to help guide your trip.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer workshop and show slots that are advertised for schools to home educator groups, due to limits in our staffing capacity.

We have increased the frequency of our Home Education Days to three times a year to try to ensure we are still able to reach as many home educated children as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Key information for your visit

  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult. This includes all Home Education Day activities.
  • Please see our access page for more information on how we can support your visit. Please be aware the Museum can be very busy year-round.
  • We recommend our Five quiet spaces and galleries in the Museum - a free paper copy can be found at information desks.

Home Education Days

  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult on all Home Education Day activities.
  • Only children who have booked in advance onto Home Education Day activities will be able to attend.
  • We can only permit one adult per child and we are not able to accommodate siblings in activity spaces due to space limitations.
  • For Home Education Days tickets, contact the Bookings Team by phoning 020 7942 5555. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9.00 – 17.00.
  • We will need to collect your contact details at the point of booking. All your information will be treated confidentially.
