Summary
My principal role is to curate and manage the Fish Collection and the associated digital catalogue and to assist people wishing to use them.Areas of responsibility and expertise include:• Wet Preservation, including fixation, clearing and staining, transferring from formalin to alcohol, re-spiriting and re-hydration.• Identification of midwater fishes. • Organisation and History of the Fish Collection. • Databasing and Digitisation. Maintaining and enhancing the Fish Collection catalogue (in KE EMu) and creating and adding digital images (x-rays, CT scans, photographs).• Auditing. I am currently auditing the type specimens held in the Fish Collection (over 12000 lots) in order to create an accurate catalogue.
