Summary
My research focuses primarily on the palaeobiology of the ornithischian (bird-hipped) dinosaurs. I work on the systematics and taxonomy of all major ornithischian clades, and have current research projects on thyreophorans, ornithopods and ceratopsians from across Europe, North America and north Africa. With a background in geology, I am particularly interested in using geological techniques to address palaeobiological problems, and I have ongoing projects on sedimentology, stratigraphy and age of the Morrison Formation of the western USA, the Wealden Group of the UK, and the Late Triassic fissure fills of the Brisol Channel region, UK. I hold an Honorary Professorship at in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham, and I supervise five PhD students. I am able to lead- or co-supervise PhD students funded through numerous NERC DLAs including TREES, CENTA, IGNITE, GW4+, CROCUS, ACCE+ and CREATES and encourage prospective applicants to contact me to discuss opportunities.
