We use specialist techniques to determine the concentrations of elements and chemical species in a wide range of samples.
These techniques use inductively coupled plasma to ionise samples.
In CHNS elemental analysis solids are combusted and the resulting oxides of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen are analysed chromatographically.
Molecular bonds are used to identify molecules by examining their response to different electromagnetic wavelengths using FTIR and UV-VIS spectroscopy.
