This is a species whose carapace
shape is very similar to those of C.
magna and C. lophura. It has a sculpture of
concentric striae and has lateral glands that open just dorsal of the right
asymmetrical gland. The majority of reliable records are from the Southern
Hemisphere (59°-24°S). There is also a batch of records from
0°-15°N in the
