60 Records
This is another of the six species that Deevey described in 1978. Her specimens came from off Bermuda, but since then all the records have come from the Northeast Atlantic, and from depths of 1000m-2000m. It was also quite frequent in the samples collected near bottom on the slope near the Porcupine Seabight in the Western Approaches to the Southwest of Britain. So at present its zoogeographical range appears to be restricted to the North Atlantic, which again may be the result of lack of sampling and analysis rather than be indicative of the true zoogeographical range of the species.
In their in their revision of the genus Archiconchoecia, Chavtur and Stovbun (2003) classified this species in Archiconchoecetta along with ten other species with affinities to ventricosa.
