Join us for our Home Education Day on Tuesday 22 July to discover some of the wonders of the natural world and explore the biodiversity of our planet.
Aimed at young learners aged 5–13, this day gives home educators the opportunity to curate an itinerary of activities, run exclusively for home educated children.

Pond Dipping Workshop

In this workshop, children will get to catch animals from our new wildlife pond. They will use ID charts to classify the animals and observe what adaptations the animals have, to survive in a pond. We will also reflect on how our actions can impact pond habitats.
- Workshop duration: 45 minutes. Recommended age: 6–12 years.

LEGO® Build the Change: Save Our Planet! Workshop

Children will use their creativity to design, build, evaluate and share a solution to a real-world sustainability challenge using LEGO® bricks in this hands-on workshop.
- Workshop duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Recommended age is 7–14 years.

Ocean Life and Habitat Show

This fun and immersive show highlights the importance of the oceans and demonstrates why it’s never been more vital to help protect this amazing habitat.

Meet the Scientist Talk

This event is an ideal opportunity to meet and ask questions to a working scientist and discover how science works in a real-world setting. Discover more about the scientist’s research and how they use the Museum's vast collections to answer big questions about the planet.
